Why Choose Stamped Concrete?
- Durable – concrete slabs will last a long time
- Strong – 3500 psi concrete mixed with fiberglass will withstand impact
- Low maintenance – easy to clean by broom, mop, and hose
- Attractive – stamped concrete can look like wood, stone, brick, and more
- Affordable – less expensive than tile, wood, and stone
- Fast – no supply chain delays or labor shortage
Pavers vs. Stamped Concrete
Stamped concrete is created with one solid pour, not hundreds of pieces and joints. It won’t shift, sink, or spread apart from plate tectonics.
Pavers have many joints susceptible to gaps forming as they settle and endure weather, time, and use. These gaps become vulnerable to weeds, moss, mildew, and destructive ant colonies.
In many cases, the jointing sand can’t completely fill the joint spaces the first time, because of compacting and settling that occurs with the wear of being walked on. Pavers will show their foundation and construction quality as soon as three months after setting.
The paver joints are also prone to frost damage and heaves caused by expanding ice. While a concrete slab can hold up to severe weather, liberal use, and accidents like a dropped planter pot.
More Level
With hasty base preparation, which is surprisingly the norm, pavers can sink, belly, rotate, and the perimeter pieces often settle out of alignment with the pattern. Dirt by itself can shrink up to 30% when compacted. But there is more to a quality patio flooring than properly tamping down a solid foundation.

Doesn't Concrete Crack?
Not if it is done right. JAG Construction Corp. takes the essential (but apparently “extraneous” and optional to other builders) steps to optimize the foundation.
Thoroughly tamping the sub-base, laying wire mesh, installing dowels of steel rebar into the foundation, and adding fiberglass to a 3500 psi concrete mix. These measures greatly help to prevent cracking.
WIith JAG Construction, there is no cutting corners to save on costs; we do it right the first time so there are no re-dos 2-5 years down the line.
